Sam Cogan scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and NEPEAN held off the challenges of BARRIE in a tough 3-1 win.

NEPEAN took over the lead for good with a goal by Cogan at 12:23 in the first period. Katryne Villeneuve provided the assist.

NEPEAN was paced by Cogan, who grabbed one goal.

NEPEAN put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow BARRIE to score on any of its four power plays. NEPEAN kept BARRIE's goalie busy throughout the game, and Sarah Stephens made 33 saves on 36 shots.

NEPEAN additionally got points from Villeneuve, who also had one goal and one assist. NEPEAN also got a goal from Lauren Miller as well. In addition, NEPEAN received assists from Meghan Brennan, who had two and Alyssa Baker, Lindsay Eastwood, and Josiane Pozzebon, who each chipped in one.

BARRIE was led by Courtney Sheedy, who scored the team's only goal. Sheedy scored 11:09 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Laura McKenzie picked up the assist.

Kayla (PU) Thompson made 17 saves for NEPEAN on 18 shots. NEPEAN incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. BARRIE incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
