DURHAM WEST relied on the scoring touch of Dakota Waites, who netted two goals, to beat WATERLOO, 4-1.

Waites' tallies came at 1:12 into the second period to make the score 1-0 DURHAM WEST and 14:34 into the second to make the score 2-0 DURHAM WEST.

DURHAM WEST's Jackie Rochefort was a brick wall in net, as she came up with 29 saves and let only one puck past him. Rochefort certainly lowered her goals against average, which was 1.49 entering the contest.

DURHAM WEST's offense rang up 41 shots on WATERLOO's net.

DURHAM WEST also got points from Kennedy Marchment, who also registered one goal and one assist. Brittany St. James also scored for DURHAM WEST. In addition, DURHAM WEST received assists from Carly Marchment (C), who had two and Meagan Lee, Stephanie Cooper, and Taylor Edwards, who each chipped in one.

WATERLOO's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as WATERLOO finished with 14 penalty minutes.

WATERLOO was led by Loren Gabel, who scored the team's only goal. Gabel scored 3:48 into the third period to make the score 2-1 DURHAM WEST. Dollee Meigs provided the assist.

DURHAM WEST incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Stephanie Sluys recorded 37 saves for WATERLOO. WATERLOO registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
