Brown leads BARRIE to shutout victory over SOUTHWESTForest Glade Arena Sun, Nov 25, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
BARRIE used a sparkling performance by Lexi Brown to take down SOUTHWEST, as the netminder did not allow a goal in BARRIE's 3-0 shutout victory. BARRIE was sparked by Tory Harshman, who finished with one goal. Harshman scored 5:48 into the first period to make the score 1-0 BARRIE. Alora Keers (A) assisted on the tally. BARRIE was steadier on the defensive front than it has been for much of this season. BARRIE gives up 2.1 goals on average per game. SOUTHWEST was unable to stop BARRIE from sending pucks towards the net, and BARRIE eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. BARRIE also got a goal from Chelsea Tucker as well. In addition, BARRIE received assists from Sara Corcoran, Emma Chown, Tara Morning, and Justine Treadwell (C), who contributed one a piece. SOUTHWEST's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four BARRIE power plays. Brown recorded 29 saves for BARRIE. BARRIE incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Katrina Heyink made 28 saves for SOUTHWEST on 31 shots. SOUTHWEST incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
