BLUEWATER wins tough contest against KINGSTON, 3-2

BLUEWATER and KINGSTON were evenly matched throughout their contest, but BLUEWATER made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Jessica Wakefield's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Wakefield had two goals to lead BLUEWATER to victory.

BLUEWATER also got a goal from Emily Woodhouse as well. In addition, BLUEWATER received assists from Kaila Pinkney, who had three and Brooke Hartwick, Karley Campbell, and Shailyn Waites, who each chipped in one.

KINGSTON was helped by Victoria Chapman (A), who grabbed one goal. Chapman (A) scored 10:43 into the second period to make the score 2-1 KINGSTON. Shelby Perry (A) assisted on the tally. KINGSTON also got points from Perry (A), who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for KINGSTON were Megan Simpson (A) and Alysha Burriss, who contributed one a piece.

BLUEWATER's starting goalie, Sasha Weekes, made 11 saves and finished with the win before she was taken out in favor of Brooke Gibson, who stopped two shots. BLUEWATER incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Elizabeth Spinozzi made 27 saves for KINGSTON on 30 shots. KINGSTON incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
