CAMBRIDGE hangs on, beats BRAMPTON 2-0

Taytum Clairmont gave CAMBRIDGE the lead in the first period, and BRAMPTON was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 2-0.

A goal 10:21 into the the first period by Clairmont proved to be the game winner, and powered CAMBRIDGE to the victory Emma Woods assisted on the tally.

Clairmont had a great game for CAMBRIDGE, netting two goals.

BRAMPTON's power play was ineffective against CAMBRIDGE's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

CAMBRIDGE stifled BRAMPTON's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. CAMBRIDGE was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 18 penalty minutes.

Other players who recorded assists for CAMBRIDGE were Kaileigh Grant (A) and Amanda McClure, who contributed one a piece.

BRAMPTON could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 28 minutes in penalties during the game.

Julia Vandyk made 20 saves for CAMBRIDGE on 20 shots. CAMBRIDGE registered one goal on nine power play opportunities. Brooke Stoddart rejected 27 shots on goal for BRAMPTON.
