TORONTO's comeback falls short, AURORA wins 4-3

TORONTO almost clawed its way back from a three-goal deficit, but AURORA managed to pull out a 4-3 win in the end.

AURORA led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when AURORA's Caroline DeBruin(A)'s scored at 4:48 in the second period to put AURORA up 4-1.

AURORA got the win with help from a great game by Brianna Veerman(A), who had one goal and two assists. Veerman(A) scored 3:51 into the first period to make the score 2-0 AURORA. Jessica Gillham picked up the assist.

AURORA pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 45 penalty minutes.

AURORA also got a goal from Alie Brindamour-McClure(A) as well. In addition, AURORA received assists from Lauren Cavarzan, who had one and Courtney Brindamour-McClure(A), who had two.

TORONTO forced AURORA goalie Paula Voorheis to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. TORONTO's defense was uncharacteristically lax during the game. TORONTO gives up 1.6 goal per game.

TORONTO was led by Breanne Wilson-Bennett, who registered one goal and one assist. Wilson-Bennett scored 7:16 into the second period to make the score 4-2 AURORA. Jessica Gazzola assisted on the tally. Audrey Potts also scored for TORONTO. More assists for TORONTO came via Morgan Kelly, who had two and Hannah Rastrick and Brooke Webster, who contributed one a piece.

Paula Voorheis made 34 saves for AURORA on 37 shots. AURORA registered two goals on five power play opportunities. For AURORA, DeBruin(A) was ejected from the game. Liberty McKague rejected 13 shots on goal for TORONTO. TORONTO totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-8 on the power play. TORONTO ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Victoria Andreakos was ejected from the game.
