BLUEWATER squeaks by CAMBRIDGE, 3-2

The game between BLUEWATER and CAMBRIDGE was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end BLUEWATER emerged with a 3-2 win.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Brooke Hartwick secured the win for BLUEWATER with a goal in the second period.

BLUEWATER was sparked by Hartwick, who had one goal and one assist. Hartwick scored 14:33 into the second period to make the score 3-2 BLUEWATER.

BLUEWATER excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Lauren Lefler also scored for BLUEWATER. More assists for BLUEWATER came via Jessica Wakefield and Sydney Dobbin, who contributed one a piece.

CAMBRIDGE put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow BLUEWATER to score on any of its four power plays.

CAMBRIDGE was helped by Kaileigh Grant (A), who grabbed one goal and one assist. Grant (A) scored 13:39 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Marcie Landman picked up the assist. CAMBRIDGE also got points from Landman, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, CAMBRIDGE received assists from Beatrice Harrietha and Emma Davidson, who each chipped in one.

Brooke Gibson made 25 saves for BLUEWATER on 27 shots. BLUEWATER incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. CAMBRIDGE's starting goalie, Julia Vandyk, made 16 saves and finished with the loss before she was taken out in favor of Jenna Sosnoski, who stopped 10 shots. CAMBRIDGE incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
