MISSISSAUGA downs LEASIDE, 8-5

MISSISSAUGA took home the 8-5 victory over LEASIDE.

MISSISSAUGA made LEASIDE's goalies to work between the pipes, ripping 33 shots and forcing 25 saves. Alex Armstrong made 18 stops and Paige Lau made seven. MISSISSAUGA surpassed its usual scoring output this season. MISSISSAUGA has scored at the pace of 4.2 goals per game during the current campaign. MISSISSAUGA's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. MISSISSAUGA gives up 2.2 goals per game. MISSISSAUGA got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game. MISSISSAUGA could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

MISSISSAUGA was helped by Ainsley MacMillan, who registered one goal and one assist. MacMillan scored 40 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 MISSISSAUGA. Cassandra Clayton picked up the assist. MISSISSAUGA additionally got points from Nadine Edney, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Hilary Lloyd, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, Hayley Masters, who also had one goal and one assist, and Clayton, who also registered one goal and one assist. Sarah Steele also scored for MISSISSAUGA. In addition, MISSISSAUGA received assists from Kelly Mariani, who had one and Nadia Larocca and Kristyn Capizzano, who each chipped in two.

LEASIDE outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, LEASIDE averages 2.1 goals per contest.

LEASIDE was helped by Anthea Lasis, who racked up one goal and one assist. Lasis scored 4:14 into the first period to make the score 2-1 MISSISSAUGA. Katrina Manoukarakis provided the assist. LEASIDE also got points from Alex Rodriguez, who also had one goal and one assist and McMahon Emily, who also tallied one goal and one assist. LEASIDE also got a goal from Megan Sullivan as well. Other players who recorded assists for LEASIDE were Kristen Lucas and Alyssa Connolly, who contributed two a piece.

Amelia Boughn made 20 saves for MISSISSAUGA on 25 shots. MISSISSAUGA registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities. LEASIDE ended with no penalties and went 3-for-8 on the power play.
