ETOBICOKE survives penalties, beats BRAMPTON, 2-1

Despite having to fight off several power plays, ETOBICOKE was able to defeat BRAMPTON, 2-1.

ETOBICOKE was sparked by Cara Sayles, who registered one goal. Sayles scored 9:12 into the second period to make the score 2-1 ETOBICOKE. Jennifer Thompson assisted on the tally.

ETOBICOKE's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven BRAMPTON power plays. ETOBICOKE's offense rang up 31 shots on BRAMPTON's net. ETOBICOKE was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 22 penalty minutes.

ETOBICOKE also got points from Thompson, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, ETOBICOKE received assists from Catie Thomson, Montana Merante, and Katelyn Turk, who each chipped in one.

BRAMPTON excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. BRAMPTON did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 13 shots on net to force 12 saves.

BRAMPTON was led by Darcy Henderson (C), who scored the team's only goal. Henderson (C) scored 14:34 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Alessia Pasquariello picked up the assist.

ETOBICOKE's Amanda Smith stopped 12 shots out of the 13 that she faced. Brooke Stoddart made 29 saves for BRAMPTON on 31 shots. BRAMPTON incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
