Tulsa falls apart in second, loses to Missouri, 5-1

The Tulsa Oilers allowed the Missouri Mavericks to net three goals during the second period and fell, 5-1.

Missouri was paced by Kenton Miller, who racked up one goal. Miller scored 6:58 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Missouri. Sebastien Thinel assisted on the tally.

The Mavericks' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Tulsa power plays. Missouri put 46 shots on net during the contest, more than the 24.2 it averages per game.

Missouri additionally got points from Brandon Smith, who also had one goal and one assist and Andrew Courtney, who also registered two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Missouri also got a goal from Colt King as well. Other players who recorded assists for Missouri were Ryan Jardine, who had two and Kyle Hood, Joshua Hepditch, and John-Scott Dickson, who each chipped in one.

The 25 shots that Tulsa put on net surpassed the Oilers' average of 17.5 shots per game this season. Tulsa's defensemen bolstered the Oilers' offensive attack, as they bombarded Mike Clemente with 14 shots.

Tulsa was led by Michel Beausoleil, who took two shots.

Clemente recorded 24 saves for the Mavericks. Missouri incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Oilers' Dan Clarke stopped 41 shots out of the 46 that he faced. Tulsa incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
