The Fort Worth Brahmas had trouble finding ways to stop the Arizona Sundogs, which beat Brahmas, 6-2.

Arizona put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Fort Worth to score on any of its three power plays. The Sundogs bested their season scoring average. Arizona averages 2.7 goals per game. The defensemen of the Sundogs were also effective in the Brahmas' zone, and came away with two goals. With 36 shots on target during the contest, Arizona exceeded the 22.0 shots it averages per game this year.

The Sundogs were led by Jason Morgan, who tallied two goals. Morgan scored the first of his two goals at 1:11 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Arizona. Jeff Kyrzakos picked up the assist. Morgan's next tally made the score 2-1 Arizona with 10:35 left in the first period. Arizona was on a disadvantage when Kevin Baker went off the ice for slashing. Kyrzakos provided the assist. Arizona also had goals scored by Kirill Tulupov, who had two and Johan Ryd and Cody Purves, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Arizona were Matt McCready, Keith Wynn, and David Brown, who contributed one a piece and Ron Meyers and Chad Nehring, who each chipped in two.

Fort Worth's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Arizona power plays. The Brahmas' offense was clicking better than usual and put 24 shots on goal during the game, better than the 17.0 shots per game they average.

Fort Worth was led by Taylor McReynolds, who had one goal. McReynolds scored 2:18 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Adam Hogg also scored for Fort Worth. In addition, Fort Worth received assists from Nick Schneider and Calin Wild, who contributed one a piece.

Brown recorded 22 saves for the Sundogs. Arizona incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Brad Fogal took the loss and made 28 saves before being replaced by Kristofer Westblom who made two saves. The Brahmas incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
