The Allen Americans tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Fort Worth Brahmas held on for a 4-3 victory.

A goal by Calin Wild put Fort Worth up 4-2 in the third period, but Allen pulled to within one on Todd Robinson's tally 16:53 into the third period.

The Brahmas' penalty kill excelled, as Fort Worth gave up zero goals despite allowing eight power plays.

The Brahmas stifled the Americans' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Fort Worth's offense was clicking better than usual and put 21 shots on goal during the game, better than the 17.4 shots per game it averages. The Brahmas were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 18 penalty minutes.

Fort Worth also got points from Austin Mayer, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Fort Worth also got a goal from Phil Fox as well. More assists for Fort Worth came via Brad Fogal, Cole Ruwe, Eric Tallent, Ross Rouleau, John Snowden, and Taylor McReynolds, who contributed one a piece.

The 41 shots that Allen put on net surpassed the Americans' average of 21.7 shots per game this season.

Allen was helped by Adam Pineault, who had one goal and one assist. Pineault scored 3:00 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Allen. Robinson assisted on the tally. Allen additionally got points from Robinson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Mike Montgomery also scored for Allen. In addition, Allen received assists from Drew Daniels, Trevor Hendrikx, Jamie Schaafsma, and Jarret Lukin, who each chipped in one.

Fogal recorded 38 saves for Fort Worth. The Brahmas registered three goals on six power play opportunities. The Americans' starting goalie, Aaron Dell, made 17 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Steve Silverthorn, who stopped zero shots. Allen incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
