In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Tulsa Oilers escaped with a 4-2 victory over Rapid City.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Ryan Cramer secured the win for Tulsa with a goal in the second period.

Michel Beausoleil was all over the ice for the Oilers, as he racked up two goals in the win. Beausoleil scored at 57 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-1 and again while 7:29 into the second to make the score 2-2.

Tulsa put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Rapid City to score on any of its three power plays. The Oilers relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as Cramer, Drew Fisher and Beausoleil took 21 of the team's 31 shots.

Tulsa also got points from Ryan Menei, who also had one goal and one assist. More assists for Tulsa came via Justin Fox, who had two and Jeff Buvinow and Patrick Schafer, who each chipped in one.

Rapid City racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with seven minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time. Rapid City had been averaging 17.0 minutes in penalties per game. Rapid City excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. Rapid City put 39 shots on net during the contest, more than the 25.7 it averages per game.

Rapid City was helped by Jordan Behler, who registered one goal. Behler scored 16:21 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Rapid City. Jesse Schultz assisted on the tally. Rapid City also got a goal from Rusty Masters as well. In addition, Rapid City received assists from Winston Day Chief and Scott Wray, who contributed one a piece.

Shane Madolora rejected 37 shots on goal for Tulsa. The Oilers ended with 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. Danny Battochio took the loss and made 11 saves before being replaced by Tim Boron who made 16 saves. For Rapid City, Justin Sawyer was ejected from the game.
