The game between the Missouri Mavericks and the Denver Cutthroats was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Missouri emerged with a 4-2 win. No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Ryan Jardine at 17:07 of the third period. The Mavericks were led by Jardine, who tallied one goal. Missouri managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Mavericks ended up below its season average of 15.0 penalty minutes per game. The 31 shots that Missouri put on net surpassed the Mavericks' average of 23.5 shots per game this season. Missouri also got points from Jesse Perrin, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Sebastien Thinel, who also had one goal and one assist. Evan Vossen also scored for Missouri. More assists for Missouri came via Kellen Tochkin, who had two and Andrew Courtney, Kenton Miller, and Colt King, who each chipped in one. Denver's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Missouri power plays. By firing 38 shots on goal, the Cutthroats exceeded the 25.8 shots they average per game this year. Denver was led by A.J. Gale, who finished with one goal and one assist. Gale scored 13:34 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Denver. Brad Smyth picked up the assist. Denver also got a goal from Troy Schwab as well. In addition, Denver received assists from Glenn Cacaro, who had one. Mathieu Corbiel rejected 36 shots on goal for Missouri. The Cutthroats' Kieran Millan stopped 27 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Denver incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors and had no power play opportunities.
