Ian Lowe netted the deciding goal for the Wichita Thunder in the shootout as Thunder prevailed over the Missouri Mavericks, 4-3 (5-4 SO). The shootout featured 14 attempts between both teams. Missouri got shootout goals from John-Scott Dickson, Kellen Tochkin, Sebastien Thinel, and Evan Vossen. In addition to the clincher, Wichita got shootout goals from Matt Summers, Matt Robinson, Neil Trimm, and Kevin Young.The Thunder came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Wichita trailed 3-1 after a goal by the Mavericks' Vossen at 2:26 in the third period. The Thunder knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by David Inman at 6:58 in the third period. Wichita was paced by Lowe, who had one goal. Lowe scored 6:22 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Missouri. Robinson picked up the assist. The Thunder were led by Lowe, who finished with one goal. Wichita additionally got points from Todd Griffith, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Wichita received assists from Summers and Andrew Martens, who each chipped in one. Missouri relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Tochkin, Trevor Kell and Joshua Hepditch took 19 of the team's 36 shots.
