Fort Worth uses shootout to best Arizona, 4-3 (2-1 SO)

Tomas Klempa scored the clinching goal in a shootout, and the Fort Worth Brahmas picked up the extra point in a 4-3 (2-1 SO) win over the Arizona Sundogs.

The two teams needed nine turns to complete the shootout. Arizona got a shootout goal from Jason Morgan. Fort Worth also got a shootout goal from Brendon Hodge.

The Brahmas came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Fort Worth was down 3-1 after a power play goal by the Sundogs' Morgan at 14:30 in the second period. The Brahmas knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Eric Satim at 8:16 in the third period.

Calin Wild had one goal and two assists to lead Fort Worth. Wild scored 19 seconds into the third period to make the score 3-2 Arizona. Austin Mayer picked up the assist.

The Brahmas' offense was clicking better than usual and put 26 shots on goal during the game, better than the 18.5 shots per game they average.

Adam Hogg also scored for Fort Worth.

Arizona was helped by Kevin Baker, who finished with one goal. Baker scored 10:22 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Arizona. Matt McCready provided the assist. Arizona also got a goal from Sebastien Geoffrion as well. In addition, Arizona received assists from Jeff Kyrzakos, Johan Ryd, Cody Purves, and Derek LeBlanc, who each chipped in one.

Fort Worth's Brad Fogal stopped 18 shots out of the 21 that he faced. The Brahmas incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Adam Russo made 22 saves for the Sundogs on 25 shots. Arizona incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
