The Denver Cutthroats were firing on all cylinders against the Tulsa Oilers, and when the final buzzer sounded Cutthroats emerged with a 5-2 win.

Denver was led by Mikael Bedard, who had one goal. Bedard scored 19:22 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Denver. Brad Smyth picked up the assist.

The Cutthroats forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up nine minors and one major for 33 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 17.0 minutes per game Denver had been spending in the box. By firing 29 shots on goal, the Cutthroats exceeded the 23.0 shots they average per game this year. Denver cashed in on power play opportunities, scoring two goals on three chances.
