The Tulsa Oilers almost clawed their way back from a three-goal deficit, but the Arizona Sundogs managed to pull out a 3-1 win in the end.

Arizona led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Sundogs' Johan Ryd's scored at 19:59 in the third period to put Arizona up 4-1.

The Sundogs were led by goalie Adam Russo, who finished with 29 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Russo will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.69.

Arizona put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Tulsa to score on any of its four power plays. The 31 shots that the Sundogs put on net surpassed Arizona's average of 23.0 shots per game this season.

The Sundogs were helped by Chad Nehring, who finished with one goal. Nehring scored 2:24 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Arizona. Arizona additionally got points from Ron Meyers, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Arizona also got a goal from Kirill Tulupov as well. More assists for Arizona came via Matt McCready, Jake Hauswirth, Jason Morgan, and Mario Larocque, who each chipped in one.

By firing 30 shots on goal, the Oilers exceeded the 18.4 shots they average per game this year. Tulsa's offense was helped by the efforts of its defensemen, who managed to put 17 shots on net during the game.

The Oilers were led by Jeff Buvinow, who scored the team's only goal. Buvinow scored short handed 19:28 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Arizona. A slashing call on Ryan Barlock put Tulsa on the penalty kill. Ryan Menei assisted on the tally.
