Boron stymies Arizona, Rapid City wins 2-1

A stellar performance between the pipes by Tim Boron helped Rapid City defeat the Arizona Sundogs, 2-1.

Rapid City was led by Jesse Schultz, who registered one goal. Schultz scored 14:38 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Rapid City. Michael Couch assisted on the tally.

Rapid City kept Arizona's goalie busy throughout the game, and Adam Russo made 30 saves on 32 shots.

Winston Day Chief also scored for Rapid City. More assists for Rapid City came via Kyle Peto and Jared Brown, who each chipped in one.

The Sundogs' offense was clicking better than usual and put 35 shots on goal during the game, better than the 24.7 shots per game they average.

Arizona was led by Derek LeBlanc, who scored the team's only goal. LeBlanc scored on the power play 2:17 into the second period to make the score 1-1. The Sundogs had gotten the advantage when Rapid City's Riley Weselowski was sent off for cross checking. Jason Morgan picked up the assist.

Boron rejected 34 shots on goal for Rapid City. Rapid City incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Arizona incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
