Fort Worth squeaks by Rapid City, 3-2NYTEX Brahmas Sat, Jan 26, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The game between the Fort Worth Brahmas and Rapid City was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Fort Worth emerged with a 3-2 win. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Riley Boychuk secured the win for the Brahmas with a goal in the third period. Fort Worth was led by Boychuk, who grabbed one goal. Boychuk scored 12:54 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Fort Worth. Calin Wild provided the assist. The Brahmas put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Rapid City to score on any of its four power plays. Konkle scored 17:16 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Rapid City. Justin Faryna picked up the assist. Jamie VanderVeeken also scored for Rapid City. Other players who recorded assists for Rapid City were Jared Brown, Jordan Behler, and Jesse Schultz, who each chipped in one. Kristofer Westblom made 21 saves for the Brahmas on 23 shots. Fort Worth incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Rapid City's Tim Boron stopped 27 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Rapid City incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
