Rapid City downs Allen in overtime, 4-3 (OT)Allen Event Center Fri, Jan 25, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Rapid City's Scott Wray scored 3:33 into overtime to beat the Allen Americans, 4-3 (OT). Wray was all over the ice for Rapid City, as he had two goals in the win. By firing 29 shots on goal, Rapid City exceeded the 24.5 shots it averages per game this year. Rapid City also got a goal from Damian Surma as well. In addition, Rapid City received assists from Kyle Peto, who had two and Riley Weselowski, Jared Brown, Jordan Behler, Jesse Schultz, and Jarrett Konkle, who each chipped in one. With 31 shots on target during the contest, Allen exceeded the 26.3 shots it averages per game this year. The Americans were helped by Jarret Lukin, who had one goal. Lukin scored short handed 5:30 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Allen. A slashing call on Ryley Grantham put Allen on the penalty kill. Kale Kerbashian also scored for Allen. More assists for Allen came via Tyler Ludwig, Brett Skinner, Mike Berube, and Mike Montgomery, who contributed one a piece. Rapid City's Danny Battochio stopped 28 shots out of the 31 that he faced. Rapid City totaled 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors and two majors and went 1-for-3 on the power play. Aaron Dell rejected 25 shots on goal for the Americans. Allen totaled 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors and went 1-for-2 on the power play.
