Rapid City beat the Wichita Thunder, 3-1, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout.

A goal 11:16 into the the first period by Kyle Peto proved to be the game winner, and powered Rapid City to the victory Damian Surma picked up the assist.

Rapid City's Tim Boron was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 42 saves and let only one puck past him. The solid play of Boron will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.46.

Rapid City was led by Scott Wray, who tallied one goal. Wray scored short handed 10:46 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Rapid City. A tripping call on Jordan Behler put Rapid City on the penalty kill. Jared Brown assisted on the tally.

Rapid City stifled Wichita's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Rapid City failed to reach its usual level of shot production, putting 18 pucks on goal after averaging 25.5 shots per game this season.
