The game between the Missouri Mavericks and the Quad City Mallards was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Missouri emerged with a 4-3 win.

The Mavericks gained the winning advantage on a goal by Ryan Jardine 7:55 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Missouri got the win thanks to a great game by Jardine, who had two goals and one assist. Jardine scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 13:02 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Missouri. The Mavericks earned a power play opportunity when Gabriel Boutin-Gagnon was put in the box for slashing. Sebastien Thinel picked up the assist. Jardine's next tally on the power play made the score 4-3 Missouri with 12:05 left in the third period. Andrew Courtney provided the assist.

Missouri excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Mavericks put 36 shots on net during the contest, more than the 22.5 they average per game.

Missouri also got points from Courtney, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Riley Emmerson also scored for Missouri. In addition, Missouri received assists from Brandon Smith, Trevor Kell, and John-Scott Dickson, who each chipped in one.

Quad City's offense rang up 33 shots on Missouri's net.

The Mallards were helped by Mike Hellyer, who registered one goal. Hellyer scored short handed 13:53 into the second period to make the score 2-2. A hooking call on Derek Matheson put Quad City on the penalty kill. Mickey Lang assisted on the tally. Quad City additionally got points from Anthony Perdicaro, who also had one goal and one assist and Matt Boyd, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Quad City were Jason Kostadine, who had one and Matt Duffy, who had two.

Mike Clemente rejected 30 shots on goal for the Mavericks. Missouri totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 2-for-4 on the power play. The Mallards' John Murray stopped 32 shots out of the 36 that he faced. Quad City ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major.
