Drew Daniels was all over the ice for the Allen Americans, as he tallied one goal and two assists in Allen's 6-2 win over the Tulsa Oilers.

Daniels got on the board by slotting home a goal 3:57 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Allen. Brian McMillin assisted on the tally. Daniels dished an assist on Jamie Schaafsma's goal that made the score 2-1 Allen at 18:15 into the first period. He added another helper on Brett Skinner's goal that made the score 4-1 Allen at 17:53 into the second period.

Tulsa's power play was ineffective against the Americans' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

Allen racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with seven minors and five majors for 49 minutes in penalty time. The Americans had been averaging 23.0 minutes in penalties per game. Allen's goal total was higher than its season average. The Americans average 3.7 goals per game. Allen's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. The Americans' offense was clicking better than usual and put 40 shots on goal during the game, better than the 27.9 shots per game they average.

Allen also got points from Jason Deitsch, who also registered one goal and one assist and Schaafsma, who also finished with two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Allen received assists from Mike Berube, Darryl Bootland, and Adam Pineault, who contributed one a piece and Tyler Ludwig and Ryley Grantham, who each chipped in two.

The Oilers were often in penalty trouble, totaling five minors and four majors for 30 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 15.0 minutes per game Tulsa had been spending in the box. By firing 37 shots on goal, the Oilers exceeded the 21.5 shots they average per game this year.

Tulsa was led by Ben Gordon, who racked up one goal. Gordon scored on the power play 2:17 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Tulsa. The Americans' Steve Silverthorn stopped 35 shots out of the 37 that he faced. Allen registered one goal on four power play opportunities. The Americans ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Clarke was ejected from the game. Shane Madolora made 34 saves for Tulsa on 40 shots.
