Allen beats Quad City 4-0 as Dell gains shutout

Aaron Dell made 26 saves to complete the shutout and led the Allen Americans to a 4-0 win against the Quad City Mallards.

Allen got the win on the strength of a great game by Brian McMillin, who had one goal and two assists. McMillin scored 5:36 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Allen. Jason Deitsch assisted on the tally.

The Americans were often in penalty trouble, totaling eight minors and two majors for 26 minutes in penalty time. Allen surpassed its season average of 22.0 penalty minutes per game. The Americans put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Quad City to score on any of its six power plays. Allen's defense was surprisingly good. The Americans gives up 2.4 goals on average per game.

Allen additionally got points from Kip Brennan, who also registered one goal and one assist. Allen also got a goal from Ryley Grantham as well. Other players who recorded assists for Allen were Jamie Schaafsma and Trevor Ludwig, who contributed one a piece.
