Matt Summers racked up one point to lead the Wichita Thunder to a 4-0 victory over the Fort Worth Brahmas. Wichita stifled Fort Worth's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Thunder featured an improved defense during the game. Wichita gives up 2.5 goals on average per game. The Thunder forced the Brahmas goalie Kristofer Westblom to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. Wichita also got points from Todd Griffith, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Ryan Flanigan also scored for Wichita. More assists for Wichita came via Gregor Hanson, Erick Lizon, Travis Wight, Kevin Young, Nathan Lutz, Torrie Jung, and Andrew Martens, who each chipped in one. Fort Worth's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Wichita power plays. The Brahmas' offense operated below they season average. Fort Worth puts an average of 2.7 pucks into the net per game. With 23 shots on target during the contest, the Brahmas exceeded the 19.4 shots they average per game this year. Fort Worth's offense was helped by the efforts of its defensemen, who managed to put 14 shots on net during the game. The Brahmas were led by Daniel Spivak, who took four shots. Wichita's Jung stopped 23 shots out of the 23 that he faced. The Thunder ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. For Wichita, Dustin Donaghy was ejected from the game. Kristofer Westblom made 27 saves for Fort Worth on 30 shots. The Brahmas incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
