The Missouri Mavericks' Kenton Miller scored 25 seconds into overtime to beat the Allen Americans, 3-2 (OT).

In the losing effort, Allen was sparked by Scotty Howes, who registered two goals. Howes scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 7:39 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Allen. A roughing penalty on Blake Forsyth had put the Americans on the power play. Trevor Ludwig picked up the assist. Howes' next tally on the power play made the score 2-2 with 1:13 left in the third period. Tyler Ludwig provided the assist.

Missouri was led by Miller, who grabbed one goal.

The Mavericks were often in penalty trouble, totaling eight minors and one major for 21 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 16.0 minutes per game Missouri had been spending in the box. The Mavericks put 28 shots on net during the contest, more than the 24.6 they average per game.

Missouri also got points from Kyle Hood, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Sebastien Thinel, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Missouri were Dave Pszenyczny, Ryan Jardine, and Andrew Courtney, who each chipped in one.

By firing 35 shots on goal, Allen exceeded the 30.3 shots it averages per game this year.

Mike Clemente made 33 saves for Missouri on 35 shots. The Mavericks registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Aaron Dell rejected 25 shots on goal for the Americans. Allen totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play.
