Boychuk provided Fort Worth with the game-winning tally when he scored 17:54 into the the first period. Erik Spady provided the assist.

The Brahmas' penalty kill excelled, as Fort Worth gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Brahmas were paced by Boychuk, who registered one goal.

Fort Worth stifled Tulsa's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Brahmas featured an improved defense during the game. Fort Worth allows 2.8 goals per game. The Brahmas' offense was clicking better than usual and put 27 shots on goal during the game, better than the 23.1 shots per game they average. The defense for Fort Worth played an important role offensively, racking up 11 shots on goal.

Nine of the Oilers' 21 shots were taken by Sean Erickson, who managed zero goals. Tulsa put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Brahmas to score on any of their four power plays. The Oilers were held below their usual level of production. Tulsa puts an average of 2.8 pucks into the net per game. The Oilers' defensemen also contributed in the offensive zone and ended up with 12 shots between them.

Brad Fogal made 21 saves for Fort Worth on 21 shots. The Brahmas incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Ian Keserich rejected 26 shots on goal for Tulsa. The Oilers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
