Bloomington blows out Missouri, 7-3Grossinger Motors Arena Sun, Dec 16, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Bloomington Blaze had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-3 win over the Missouri Mavericks. Tyler Gron was all over the ice for Bloomington, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Gron scored the first of his two goals at 55 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Bloomington. Matthew Larke provided the assist. Gron's next tally made the score 5-0 Bloomington with 7:00 left in the second period. The Blaze had taken the advantage when Missouri's Sebastien Thinel got sent off for elbowing. Bloomington also got a goal from Steve Makway as well. More assists for Bloomington came via Nicolas Rioux, Jared Walker, and Kyle Bochek, who each chipped in one. The Mavericks were often in penalty trouble, totaling eight minors and three majors for 41 minutes in penalty time. Missouri surpassed its season average of 16.0 penalty minutes per game. The Mavericks put 35 shots on net during the contest, more than the 22.9 they average per game. Missouri additionally got points from Kenton Miller, who also grabbed one goal and one assist.
