The Tulsa Oilers could not stop the Wichita Thunder's Neil Trimm, who tallied a hat trick in a 6-2 win.

Trimm's first goal came 1:10 into the second period. He then added goals at 6:44 into the second and at 13:25 into the second.

Wichita led by only one goal at the end of the first period, but put the game away by scoring three goals in the second.

The Thunder's goal total was higher than their season average. Wichita has scored at the pace of 3.6 goals per game during the current campaign. With 35 shots on target during the contest, the Thunder exceeded the 27.8 shots they average per game this year.

Wichita also got points from Todd Griffith, who also tallied one goal and one assist, RG Flath, who also had one goal and one assist, and Matt Summers, who also racked up one goal and two assists. In addition, Wichita received assists from Gregor Hanson, Ian Lowe, Ryan Flanigan, Kevin Regan, Kevin Young, Nathan Lutz, and Aaron Boogaard, who contributed one a piece.

Tulsa racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with six minors and one major for 17 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 14.0 minutes per game the Oilers had been spending in the box. Tulsa's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Wichita power plays. The defense for the Oilers played an important role offensively, racking up nine shots on goal.

Tulsa was led by Ryan Cramer, who registered two goals. Cramer scored the first of his two goals at 2:08 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Drew Fisher picked up the assist. Cramer's next tally made the score 6-2 Wichita with 1:40 left in the third period. A attempt to injure penalty on Griffith had put the Oilers on the power play. Matt Register assisted on the tally. More assists for Tulsa came via Ryan Menei and Troy Ofukany, who each chipped in one.

Regan rejected 20 shots on goal for Wichita. The Thunder ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. Ian Keserich took the loss and made 18 saves before being replaced by Mike Garman who made 11 saves. Tulsa registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
