Clemente stymies Bloomington, Missouri wins 3-1

Mike Clemente had a standout game with 30 saves, and the Missouri Mavericks beat the Bloomington Blaze 3-1.

Missouri was sparked by Evan Vossen, who racked up one goal. Vossen scored 12:56 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Missouri. Sebastien Thinel assisted on the tally.

The Mavericks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Bloomington to score on any of its three power plays. With 28 shots on target during the contest, Missouri exceeded the 22.6 shots it averages per game this year.

Missouri additionally got points from Ryan Jardine, who also registered one goal and one assist. Andrew Courtney also scored for Missouri. In addition, Missouri received assists from David Simoes and Brandon Smith, who each chipped in one.

The Blaze's offense operated below they season average. Bloomington averages 3.9 goals per game. The Blaze's offense rang up 31 shots on the Mavericks' net.

Bloomington was led by Dan Barczuk, who scored the team's only goal. Barczuk scored 12:31 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Bloomington. Ryan Palmer picked up the assist.

Missouri incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Dan Dunn made 25 saves for the Blaze on 28 shots. Bloomington incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
