The Quad City Mallards and the Bloomington Blaze were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Quad City made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-3.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Obi Aduba's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Mickey Lang was all over the ice for the Mallards, as he racked up two goals in the win. Lang scored at 3:06 into the second period to make the score 1-1 and again while 9:05 into the third to make the score 3-2 Quad City.
