The Tulsa Oilers were firing on all cylinders against the Quad City Mallards, and when the final buzzer sounded Oilers emerged with a 4-1 win.

Tulsa was led by goalie Ian Keserich, who finished with 27 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Keserich will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 3.12.

The Oilers were sparked by Gary Steffes, who tallied one goal and one assist. Steffes scored 14:34 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Tulsa. David Beauregard provided the assist.

Tulsa's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Quad City power plays. The 34 shots that the Oilers put on net surpassed Tulsa's average of 29.2 shots per game this season.

Tulsa also got points from Ben Gordon, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Ryan Menei, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Michel Beausoleil, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Tulsa received assists from Drew Akins and Matt Register, who each chipped in one.

Quad City relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Patrik Levesque, Obi Aduba and Jason Dixon took 15 of the team's 28 shots.

The Mallards were led by Shayne Toporowski, who scored the team's only goal. Toporowski scored 2:33 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Tulsa. Eddie Effinger picked up the assist.

The Oilers totaled 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors and went 1-for-3 on the power play. John Murray rejected 30 shots on goal for Quad City. The Mallards ended with 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors.
