Glanbrook squeaks by Delhi, 4-2

Glanbrook gutted out a close 4-2 win against the Delhi Travellers.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Jake Kelly at 2:49 of the third period.

Glanbrook was led by Dillon Ciprietti, who had one goal. Ciprietti scored 10:17 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Glanbrook. Drew Jedrzejewicz provided the assist.

Glanbrook managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Glanbrook wound up below its season average of 6.0 penalty minutes per game. Glanbrook forced Delhi goalie Nick Heath to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

Glanbrook also got points from Curtis Edwards, who also registered one goal and one assist. Brandon Elliot also scored for Glanbrook. Other players who recorded assists for Glanbrook were Roger Sherwood, who had three and Cal Smith and Jay Creen, who contributed one a piece.

The Travellers stifled Glanbrook's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Delhi's offense operated below it season average. The Travellers put an average of 4.8 pucks into the net per game. The defensemen of Delhi were also effective in Glanbrook's zone, and came away with two goals.

The Travellers were helped by Dylan zero'Neill, who grabbed one goal. zero'Neill scored short handed 18:27 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Glanbrook. A tripping call on Jordan Betzold put Delhi on the penalty kill. Delhi also got a goal from Harrison McRobert as well. More assists for Delhi came via Travis Harper, who had one.

Mike Szalowski AP made five saves before being replaced by Matt Sagrott, who took the win and made 19 saves. Glanbrook registered zero goals on three power play opportunities. The Travellers' Heath stopped 35 shots out of the 38 that he faced. Delhi incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
