Haroland leads Burford over Delhi, 6-2

The Burford Bulldogs' JJ Haroland had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 6-2 win over the Delhi Travellers.

Haroland scored at 3:07 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Burford and again while 5:19 into the second to make the score 3-2 Burford.

Burford pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 12 penalty minutes.

The Bulldogs put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Delhi to score on any of its six power plays. Burford kept the Travellers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Nick Heath made 26 saves on 32 shots.

Burford additionally got points from Tyler MacLaughlin, who also tallied two goals and one assist and Jim Salatas, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Burford also got a goal from Ryan White as well. Other players who recorded assists for Burford were Kyle Chaney and Michael Thomlison, who contributed one a piece and Pat Bates and Tyler Vandenbussche, who each chipped in three.

Delhi did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Travellers put an average of 5.1 pucks into the net per game. The Bulldogs were unable to stop Delhi from sending pucks towards the net, and the Travellers eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

Delhi was helped by Colin VanDale, who finished with one goal. VanDale scored 3:29 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Rick Fergus picked up the assist. Josh Bradshaw also scored for Delhi. More assists for Delhi came via Harrison McRobert and Jeremy Jacobs, who contributed one a piece.

Don Davis recorded 29 saves for Burford. The Bulldogs registered one goal on six power play opportunities. The Travellers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
