North Middlesex holds on for 4-2 win against Mt.Brydges

The Mt.Brydges Bulldogs tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the North Middlesex Stars held on for a 4-2 victory.

A goal by Zak MacNaught put North Middlesex up 4-1 in the third period, but Mt.Brydges pulled to within two on Ryan Battersby's tally 8:56 into the third period.

The Stars pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 24 penalty minutes.

North Middlesex was helped by Spencer Kading, who grabbed one goal. Kading scored 4:46 into the third period to make the score 3-1 North Middlesex. Mike Sharpe assisted on the tally. North Middlesex also got a goal from Ben Lawton as well. Other players who recorded assists for North Middlesex were Michael Quinn, who had two and Chris Waack, Jeremy Vandeven, and Cody Wuytenburg, who contributed one a piece.

Sean Candler also scored for Mt.Brydges. More assists for Mt.Brydges came via Connor Dunn and Tyler Lockwood, who each chipped in one.

Bobby Raine rejected 26 shots on goal for the Stars. North Middlesex registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. The Bulldogs' Eric Steinman stopped 19 shots out of the 23 that he faced. Mt.Brydges incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
