Essex downs Blenheim, 4-0

Tyler Raymont had one point to lead the Essex 73s to a 4-0 victory over the Blenheim Blades.

Essex stifled Blenheim's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The 73s featured an improved defense during the game. Essex allows 2.2 goals per game.

Essex also got a goal from Jordan Ryan as well. Other players who recorded assists for Essex were Marco Canzoneri, who had two and Colin Moore and Scott Bromley, who contributed one a piece.

The Blades did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Blenheim averages 3.0 goals per game.

The 73s' Trevor Wheaton stopped 19 shots out of the 19 that he faced. Essex totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. The 73s ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Blaise Baillargeon was ejected from the game. Justin Pratt recorded 25 saves for the Blades. Blenheim totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-3 on the power play. For the Blades, Tyler Oglan was ejected from the game.
