Alvinston downs Belle River in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Alvinston Flyers pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Belle River Canadiens on a clutch goal by Kirk Dorman.

Dorman had a great game for Alvinston, netting two goals. Dorman scored at 12:47 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Alvinston and again while short handed 1:56 into the fourth to make the score 4-3 Alvinston.

The Flyers' offense rang up 31 shots on Belle River's net.

Alvinston additionally got points from Tyler Kettler, who also registered one goal and one assist and Chad Vaneyk, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Alvinston came via Davis Triest, Joe Archer, and Ryan Fraser, who each chipped in one.

The Canadiens' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Alvinston power plays.

Belle River was helped by Richard Dunning, who finished with one goal. Dunning scored 18:48 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Alvinston. Derek Haskell assisted on the tally. Belle River also got a goal from James Shelton as well. Other players who recorded assists for Belle River were Branden Larocque, Donnovan Plummer, Weston Gaul, and Brenden Crundwell, who contributed one a piece.

Brad Jacklin rejected 27 shots on goal for Alvinston. The Flyers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Canadiens' Brandon Cowell stopped 27 shots out of the 31 that he faced. Belle River incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
