The Kingsville Comets survived a determined comeback attempt by the Mooretown Flags on the way to a 5-3 win.

Kingsville made the score 5-2 on a goal by Daniel Beaudion at 19:18 in the second period, and Mooretown got as close as 5-3 when Matt Brandon scored 4:29 into the third period.

The Comets' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Mooretown power plays. Kingsville kept the Flags' goalie busy throughout the game, and Braden Palocz made 28 saves on 33 shots. The Comets surpassed their usual scoring output this season. This season, Kingsville averages 2.5 goals per contest.

Kingsville also got points from Ryan Desjarlais, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Kingsville also got a goal from Frank Desjardin as well. In addition, Kingsville received assists from Steven Spada, who had three and Kyle Morand, Zach Ross, and Nathan Crankshaw, who contributed one a piece.

Mooretown forced the Comets goalie Crankshaw to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

Riley Roberts also scored for Mooretown. Other players who recorded assists for Mooretown were David Addley, who had one and Jordan Orth and Andrew Sokol, who contributed two a piece.

Crankshaw recorded 32 saves for Kingsville. The Comets incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. For Kingsville, Ross was ejected from the game. The Flags incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
