Tremblay stymies Kingsville, Wheatley wins 2-1

Marc Tremblay had a standout game with 29 saves, and the Wheatley Sharks beat the Kingsville Comets 2-1.

Wheatley was led by Brett Bowman, who tallied one goal and one assist. Bowman scored 7:47 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Wheatley. Brendon Anger provided the assist.

The Sharks' offense rang up 33 shots on Kingsville's net.

Wheatley additionally got points from Anger, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Wheatley were Zach Wilson, who had one.

The Comets excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.

Kingsville was led by Kyle Morand, who scored the team's only goal. Morand scored on the power play 19:19 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Wheatley. The Comets earned a power play opportunity when Eric Rivard was put in the box for slashing. Robert Jardine assisted on the tally.

Wheatley incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Kyle Andrian rejected 31 shots on goal for Kingsville. The Comets incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
