Luciw's big game bests Essex in 7-4 Belle River win

Behind a great game by Jordan Luciw, who had two goals and one assist, the Belle River Canadiens defeated the Essex 73s, 7-4.

Luciw's tallies came at 5:00 into the third period to make the score 5-2 Belle River and 16:07 into the third to make the score 7-3 Belle River.

In the losing effort, Essex was sparked by Adam Dunmore, who racked up three goals.

Belle River excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Canadiens got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game.

Belle River also got points from Derek Haskell, who also tallied one goal and one assist and James Shelton, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Belle River included Weston Gaul, who had one and Richard Dunning, who had two. In addition, Belle River received assists from Brenden Crundwell, who had two and Guy Levesque, Mike Ditty, Donnovan Plummer, and Chris DiNatale, who contributed one a piece.

The 73s' offense rang up 33 shots on Belle River's net.

Essex also got a goal from Alex Garon as well. More assists for Essex came via Tyler Raymont, Jordan Brohman, and Curtis Prymack, who each chipped in one and Matthew Hebert and Dylan Solecki, who contributed two a piece.

Zakk Olvin rejected 29 shots on goal for the Canadiens. Belle River incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Essex's Arren Romeril stopped 16 shots out of the 23 that he faced. The 73s incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
