Blenheim blows out Wallaceburg, 6-0

The Blenheim Blades were firing on all cylinders against the Wallaceburg Lakers, and when the final buzzer sounded Blades emerged with a 6-0 win.

Blenheim was paced by Aidan Wiebenga, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Wiebenga scored 19:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Blenheim. Trevor Sparks picked up the assist.

The Blades put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Wallaceburg to score on any of its five power plays.

Blenheim also got points from Sparks, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Blenheim included Kurt Beecroft, who had two and Shawn Hope and Zack Horvath, who each put in one. In addition, Blenheim received assists from Bowe Shepley, who had two and Tyler Clarke, Cam Aitken, Dylan Bonner, Justin Rossignol, and Matt Speed, who contributed one a piece.

Dylan Vanderpol rejected 22 shots on goal for Blenheim. The Blades incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Joel Sowinski recorded 21 saves for the Lakers. Wallaceburg incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
