Space Coast Hurricanes blows out Palm Beach Hawks, 8-3

Space Coast Hurricanes had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 8-3 win over Palm Beach Hawks.

Space Coast Hurricanes' penalty kill excelled, as Space Coast Hurricanes gave up one goal despite allowing eight power plays.

Space Coast Hurricanes made Palm Beach Hawks' goalies to work between the pipes, launching 42 shots and forcing 34 saves. Tommy Cruz made 16 stops and Shayne Dietl made 18. Space Coast Hurricanes outdid its season average for goals scored. Space Coast Hurricanes has scored at the pace of 3.1 goals per game during the current campaign. Space Coast Hurricanes could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 20 minutes in penalties during the game. Space Coast Hurricanes' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Space Coast Hurricanes was helped by Keegan Finn, who tallied two goals and one assist. Finn scored the first of his two goals short handed at 17:49 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Space Coast Hurricanes. Space Coast Hurricanes played down a man on Matthew Montoya-Martin's tripping. Jack Musil picked up the assist. Finn's next tally short handed made the score 4-1 Space Coast Hurricanes with 17:00 left in the second period. Space Coast Hurricanes had gotten the advantage when Palm Beach Hawks' Jake Simons was sent off for roughing. Griffin Rogers assisted on the tally. Space Coast Hurricanes additionally got points from Crissostomos Villarreal, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Rogers, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Musil, who also registered one goal and one assist, Clay Plyler, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Brian Hurley, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Palm Beach Hawks was led by Brandon Desrosiers, who had one goal and one assist. Desrosiers scored 20 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Palm Beach Hawks. Joseph Lambert picked up the assist. AJ Fasick also scored for Palm Beach Hawks.

Space Coast Hurricanes' Parker Bonis stopped 42 shots out of the 45 that he faced. Space Coast Hurricanes registered three goals on eight power play opportunities.
