The Lakefield Chiefs survived a determined comeback attempt by the Georgina Ice on the way to a 5-4 win.

Lakefield made the score 5-2 on a goal by Gregory Jesse at 8:04 in the third period, and Georgina got as close as 5-4 when Vito Jessop scored 14:33 into the third period.

Jesse had a great game for the Chiefs, netting two goals.

Lakefield managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Chiefs ended up below its season average of 22.0 penalty minutes per game.

Lakefield additionally got points from Travis Brault, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Ryan Saunders also scored for Lakefield. In addition, Lakefield received assists from Riley Campbell, who had one, Curtis Bolton, who had two, and Eric Oosting, who had three.
