Uxbridge wins tough contest against Port Perry, 3-2

The Uxbridge Bruins and the Port Perry Mojacks were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Uxbridge made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2.

The Bruins gained the winning advantage on a goal by Patrick Morgan 19:54 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Uxbridge pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 18 penalty minutes.

The Bruins were sparked by Morgan, who registered one goal and one assist.

Uxbridge stifled Port Perry's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Uxbridge also got a goal from Michael Spataro as well. More assists for Uxbridge came via Mike Ramsey, who had three.

The Mojacks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Bruins to score on any of their six power plays. Port Perry kept Uxbridge's goalie busy throughout the game, and Brandon Francey made 29 saves on 31 shots.

The Mojacks were helped by Lee Taylor, who grabbed one goal. Taylor scored 3:38 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Matt Paul assisted on the tally. Kyler Challis also scored for Port Perry.

Drew Siydock recorded 22 saves for Port Perry. The Mojacks incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
