Port Perry wins tough contest against Little Britain, 3-2Scugog Memorial Arena Sun, Oct 07, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Port Perry Mojacks and the Little Britain Merchants were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Port Perry made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2. No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Matt Paul at 19:01 of the third period. The Mojacks were led by Paul, who had one goal. Port Perry's offense rang up 38 shots on Little Britain's net. Anders Neilsen also scored for Port Perry. In addition, Port Perry received assists from Brody Anderson, who had two and Kyler Challis, Patrick McKay, and Lee Taylor, who each chipped in one. The Merchants were helped by Kurtis Moore, who registered one goal. Moore scored 18:14 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Little Britain. Little Britain also got a goal from Mark Vasey as well. Other players who recorded assists for Little Britain were Nate Huhges and Ryan Moser, who contributed one a piece. Jeff Julien made 23 saves for the Mojacks on 25 shots. Port Perry incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Garrett Haden rejected 35 shots on goal for Little Britain. The Merchants incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Little Britain ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Mitch Phinney was ejected from the game.
