Lakefield downs Port Perry, 8-3

The Lakefield Chiefs won 8-3 over the Port Perry Mojacks.

Lakefield stifled Port Perry's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Mojacks were unable to stop the Chiefs from sending pucks towards the net, and Lakefield eventually piled up 40 shots on goal. The Chiefs found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Lakefield averages 4.5 goals per game.

The Chiefs were led by Travis Brault, who racked up two goals and one assist. Brault scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 32 seconds into the second period to make the score 4-1 Lakefield. Connor Blair provided the assist. Brault's next tally on the power play made the score 6-3 Lakefield with 12:06 left in the third period. Lakefield had gained a power play chance when Anders Neilsen was whistled for checking from behind. Nathan Larson assisted on the tally. Lakefield additionally got points from Jordan Walsh, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Larson, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Derek Manley, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Lakefield also got a goal from Curtis Bolton as well. More assists for Lakefield came via Ryan Anderson, Eric Oosting, and Ryan Saunders, who contributed one a piece.

Port Perry's penalty kill was ineffective, and let in two goals to the Chiefs' power play unit.

The Mojacks were led by Kyle London, who racked up one goal and two assists. London scored 3:42 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Lakefield. Neilsen provided the assist. Port Perry also got points from Logan Evans, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Kirk Bricknell also scored for Port Perry.

Dustin Cook made 24 saves for Lakefield on 27 shots. The Chiefs incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Drew Siydock rejected 32 shots on goal for Port Perry. The Mojacks totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 0-for-3 on the power play. Port Perry ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Neilsen was ejected from the game.
