Listowel holds on for 5-4 win against Brampton

The Brampton Bombers tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Listowel Cyclones would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-4.

Listowel took a 5-3 lead during the third period, only to have Brampton storm back on a Brandon Clelland goal 19:48 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

Jesse Parker and Patrick Bell provided the spark for the Cyclones, combining for three goals and one assist. Parker racked up two goals and one assist and Bell also added one goal.

Listowel additionally got points from Brandon Preistap, who also had one goal and one assist. Listowel also got a goal from Jacob Robitaille as well. Other players who recorded assists for Listowel were Mac Nichol, who had two and Sam Harris and Scott Pawson, who contributed one a piece.

The Bombers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Listowel was unable to stop Brampton from sending pucks towards the net, and the Bombers eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Brampton also got points from Eric DiCarlo, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Jake Derkach also scored for Brampton. More assists for Brampton came via Jacob Hanlon, Nik Borschevsky, Reid Jackman, Kurt Wolff, Francois Cote, and Michael Darrigo, who each chipped in one.

Drew Reinhardt rejected 33 shots on goal for the Cyclones. Listowel incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Bryan Raymond made 17 saves for Brampton on 21 shots. The Bombers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
