Leamington blows out Sarnia, 6-0Leamington Kinsmen Recreation Sun, Feb 17, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Leamington Flyers had a five-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-0 win over the Sarnia Legionnaires. Kyle Shaw had two goals and one assist to lead Leamington. Shaw scored the first of his two goals at 9:22 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Leamington. Alex Seguin provided the assist. Shaw's next tally made the score 3-0 Leamington with 19:28 left in the second period. Mitchell Amante picked up the assist. The Flyers stifled Sarnia's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Leamington's defense was surprisingly good. The Flyers allow 3.0 goals per game. The Legionnaires were unable to stop Leamington from sending pucks towards the net, and the Flyers eventually piled up 61 shots on goal. Leamington bested its season scoring average. This season, the Flyers average 3.7 goals per contest. Leamington also got points from Seguin, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, Myles Doan, who also registered two goals and one assist, and Tony Spidalieri, who also had one goal and two assists. Sarnia was held below its usual level of production. The Legionnaires put an average of 3.8 pucks into the net per game. Austyn Roudebush recorded 22 saves for Leamington.
