Lambton Shores wins tough contest against Leamington, 5-3The Shores Recreation Centre Sat, Feb 16, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Lambton Shores Predators and the Leamington Flyers were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Lambton Shores made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-3. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Nick Sproveiro secured the win for the Predators with a goal in the third period. Brett Thompson had two goals and one assist to lead Lambton Shores. Thompson scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 37 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-1. The Predators had taken the advantage when Leamington's Cole Chevalier got sent off for tripping. Tanner Ferguson provided the assist. Thompson's next tally on the power play made the score 3-3 with 19:01 left in the third period. Adam Arseneault picked up the assist. Lambton Shores' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Leamington power plays. Lambton Shores additionally got points from Kyle Brothers, who also finished with one goal and three assists to lead the team in points and Arseneault, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Lambton Shores were Brandon Campbell, Ryan Rontondi, and Connor Annett, who contributed one a piece. The Flyers were helped by Tony Spidalieri, who racked up one goal. Spidalieri scored 11:07 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Leamington. Alex Seguin assisted on the tally.
